| This video is my response to Calvin Johnson breaking Jerry Rice's single season recieving yards record in the Lions vs Falcons game on Saturday 12-22-2012. This video is just me talking and giving my opinion. I am not showing any video or photos. It is just me talking with the basic graphic. That is it. Here is a description of what I am talking about. I have also included some additional information to reference what I am discussing. Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson — a/k/a/ "Megatron" — surpassed Rice for the most receiving yards in a season with a brilliant performance in Saturday night's 31-18 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field. Johnson broke the record on a 26-yard reception with 2:57 remaining in the game to give him 1871 yards on the season, 23 more than Rice, the San Francisco 49ers Hall of FAmer, had 17 years ago. Johnson made one more catch and now has 1892 yards through 15 games. He finished the night with 11 catches for 225 yards. Most assumed that Johnson, who was 181 yards behind Rice entering Saturday, would need the final game of the season to finish the job. But Johnson turned a short pass into a 49-yard gain in the middle of the first quarter, had 117 yards by halftime and just kept on going. Rice had held the record since he caught 122 passes for 1848 yards in 1995. Johnson also broke two other NFL records Saturday, tied another and set a Detroit club record on his way to catching Rice.
