Week 16: The NFL In Song - Back Page Lead

The Carpenters "Top Of The World"

Atlanta Falcons (13-2): Whether you believe in them as a Super Bowl team, Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez are a dynamic combination.

Denver Broncos (12-3): Even as a Denver fan it's hard to believe this is a legitimate Super Bowl teambut it is.

Green Bay Packers (11-4): Remember a few weeks ago when they got hammered by the Giants? Yeah, me neither.

New England Patriots (11-4): Ugly win over the Jaguars, but if you had to put money on one team to win it all, the Pats might be it.

Barry Manilow "Looks Like We Made It"

Baltimore Ravens (10-5): Just like that, they ended a three-game losing streak, crushed the defending Super Bowl champs and clinched the NFC North. Bang.

Indianapolis Colts (10-5): One of the truly great sports stories of 2012: a coach fighting cancer, a rookie quarterback and an overachieving team that will play in the post-season.

Cincinnati Bengals (9-6): Against the odds, the Bengals went into Pittsburgh, knocked the Steelers out of contention and made the playoffs for the second straight season.

Bruce Springsteen "I'm On Fire"

Seattle Seahawks (10-5): Their demolition job on San Francisco means the Seahawks have outscored their last three opponents 150-30.

Washington Redskins (9-6): Have won six in a row and if they beat Dallas, the Redskins could win their first NFC East title since 1999.

Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive"

Chicago Bears (9-6): They ended a three-game losing streak and won for just the second time in seven games.

Minnesota Vikings (9-6): Impressive win over Houston even without Adrian Peterson at his best. But can they beat Green Bay?

Dallas Cowboys (8-7): This team is like Rasputin. Despite choking against the Saints, Dallas is still a good chance to win the NFC East.

The Who "Who Are You?"

Houston Texans (12-3): Clinching a division is one thing. Getting thumped by the Vikings at home is quite another.

San Francisco 49ers (10-4-1): Did that 42-13 loss at Seattle derail any playoff momentum?

New York Giants (8-7): It's all gone horribly wrong for the champs and will take a minor miracle for them to make the playoffs.

Cake "The Distance"

St. Louis Rams (7-7-1): Jeff Fisher has done a nice job with a team that could have packed it in weeks ago.

New Orleans Saints (7-8): An 8-8 finish would be quite respectable. Don't sleep on these guys next year.

Miami Dolphins (7-8): Not a good season but plenty of things to build on next year.

Carolina Panthers (6-9): Strong finish - and a more consistent Cam Newton - has given Panthers' fans some hope.

San Diego Chargers (6-9): Anticipate a big off-season shakeup, but players have rallied to win two of their last three.

Alice Cooper "Welcome To My Nightmare"

Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8): Injuries were a huge factor, but somehow we always expected them to pull it off. Turns out, they just weren't good enough.

New York Jets (6-9): What a disaster this whole season has been. Now two quarterbacks are pissed off.

Lupe Fiasco/Guy Sebastian "Battle Scars"

Philadelphia Eagles (4-11): Looks as if Michael Vick - just recovered from a concussion - will get the starting nod over rookie Nick Foles, who broke a finger.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-13): A terrible team, but at least they've gone down fighting.

Kansas City Chiefs (2-13): It's truly been a sad season in Kansas City, but Jamaal Charles (226 yards v Indianapolis) gave fans something to smile about.

Aimee Mann "Par For The Course"

Arizona Cardinals (5-10): It's going to be an interesting off-season in the desert, that's for sure.

Buffalo Bills (5-10): Bills have faded fast with three straight losses. Next up, the dysfunctional Jets.

Cleveland Browns (5-10): They were blown out in Denver, but the Browns have been far from the worst team in the NFL.

The Proclaimers "Over And Done With"

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-9): Five straight losses have tacked a disappointing ending onto what was once a fairly promising season.

Tennessee Titans (5-10): It's been a roller coaster season and the 55-7 loss to Green Bay was certainly one of the lowest points of the ride.

Oakland Raiders (4-11): Not much to brag about in Oak-town these days, and the bad thing is there isn't much to look forward to.
