Brady Quinn, who was named as the Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback earlier this week, suffered a head injury in the first quarter against the Raiders on Sunday and had to leave the game.
He was not expected to return.
Quinn was replaced by Matt Cassel, who had been the starter until he was injured a few weeks ago.
Cassel was deemed healthy enough to play this week, but coach Romeo Crennel named Quinn as his starter anyway.
Quinn was taken to the locker room for further tests after the injury, and it's unclear whether he'll return to Sunday's game.
He had completed 2 of 4 passes for one yard before being injured.
—Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill left Sunday's game against the New York Jets in the first quarter with a left quadriceps and knee injury, according to NFL.com.
Tannehill was injured when Jets linebacker Calvin Pace sacked him on a third-down play.
—Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a hamstring injury, according to NFL.com.
Nelson was listed on the team's injury report as questionable.
—Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert played at Green Bay on Sunday despite a left shoulder injury suffered in Week 8, but the Jaguars promoted John Parker Wilson off their practice squad to give them a third quarterback behind Gabbert and Chad Henne.
Defensive end John Chick was activated from the physically unable to perform list, while offensive tackle Herb Taylor and linebacker Brandon Marshall were released.
—Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera and his coaching staff are on the hot seat since general manager Marty Hurney was fired last week.
ESPN.com reported Sunday that owner Jerry Richardson had reservations about Hurney's hiring of Rivera in 2011.
—The Carolina Panthers have received trade inquiries about running back DeAngelo Williams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Panthers are "willing to listen," per the report, with Tuesday's trade deadline approaching. Williams signed a five-year, $43 million deal in 2011.
Williams entered Sunday leading the Panthers with 177 rushing yards this season, but is averaging just 3.5 yards per carry. Stewart has 142 yards on 4.1 yards per carry, with 15 fewer carries than Williams' team-high 50.
—Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones and New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw were active for Sunday's game, according to NFL.com.
Both were listed on their respective teams' injury reports as questionable with knee ailments.
—Several Washington Redskins were inactive for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced.
Washington will be without quarterback Rex Grossman, safety Brandon Meriweather, cornerback Richard Crawford, guard Josh LeRibeus, guard Adam Gettis, wide receiver Pierre Garcon and defensive end Doug Worthington.
—Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams informed the team about his surprise wrist surgery last week via text, ESPN.com reported Sunday.
Williams did not show up to the Bills facility last Monday before texting a trainer and a defensive line coach to inform them he was getting a second opinion on his wrist and that he was having arthroscopic surgery. He then texted that he would return to practice this Monday and be ready to play Nov. 4 against the Houston Texans.
Buffalo had a bye this past week.
The Bills were fined $20,000 for failing to disclose Williams' wrist injury earlier this season.
—Several teams have inquired about St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson over the past few weeks in preparation for Tuesday's NFL trade deadline, ESPN.com reported Sunday.
The Rams are reportedly not actively looking to deal Jackson, but are listening to offers.
The Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers are thin at running back and seem likely as trade partners. The Packers have shown interest in Jackson in the past.
Jackson has 101 carries for 380 yards with one touchdown this season.
—Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson left Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons in the third quarter with a an undisclosed injury, according to NFL.com.
Jackson had five catches for 59 yards before exiting. He was slow to get up after making a reception. He went to the sideline and then jogged to the locker room.
FOX's TV broadcast reported that the Eagles' training staff examined Jackson's lower left leg.
—Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick is on thin ice as the starter, according to the NFL Network.
Vick is reportedly being evaluated on a game-by-game. The belief is if Vick continues to turn the ball over, the Eagles will not hesitate to turn to rookie Nick Foles.
Also, if Vick does not dramatically improve his play, the team will not bring him back next year.
—Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright faces a four-game suspension for using Adderall, Fox Sports reported Sunday.
Adderall use violates the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The league has not announced any discipline for Wright.
Some players reportedly take the drug to deal with attention deficit disorder.
—San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said his team will enter Monday night's game at the Arizona Cardinals very healthy and prepared after having 10 days between games.
The 49ers last played Oct. 18 in a 16-9 victory on Thursday Night Football over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks.
San Francisco has also had more time to prepare, and was scheduled to leave for Arizona after a Sunday workout.
"We believe we've gotten a lot out of it," Harbaugh said Saturday of the time between games. "It's been a real productive week.
—The New York Jets have no plans to trade backup quarterback Tim Tebow before Tuesday's deadline, according to the New York Daily News.
Tebow averaged just seven snaps through the team's first seven games, but sources told the Daily News that head coach Rex Ryan wants to get Tebow more involved in the offense going forward.
—Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark was ruled out after taking a hard hit in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins.
Clark sustained a concussion, according to NFL.com. The Steelers led 27-9 at the end of the third quarter.
—Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas left Sunday's game in the third quarter and is scheduled to undergo tests to determine the severity of his left knee injury.
Delmas missed the first four games of the season with a left knee ailment, but the Lions didn't disclose the exact nature of that ailment. Delmas underwent a surgical procedure on his knee on Aug. 7 and was sidelined for more than eight weeks.
–Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall was ejected from Sunday's game against Pittsburgh for yelling at an official who had penalized him for
for unsportsmanlike conduct in the fourth quarter.
The NFL will review Hall's ejection this week to determine whether disciplinary action will be taken.
